
Stone Temple Pilots are currently rehearsing for the next leg of touring behind their self-titled comeback record (with a stop in Cleveland at Tower City Amphitheater August 22nd), and guitarist Dean DeLeo says the band hopes to mix up the setlist a bit. “We’ve been in rehearsals the last week and a half,” DeLeo tells Billboard.com. “We’re playing some stuff we’ve never played live. We’re doing some stuff from [1999's] No. 4 and some things off [1994's] Purple that we haven’t played since, like, ’94.” And, he adds with a laugh, “We actually worked up about five or six songs from the new record — the fans’ worst nightmare, right? ‘We’re gonna do a few songs from our new record…’ ”
When Eric Mangini leads his players onto the field today for the first practice of training camp, they will include 40 — exactly half the roster — who were not with the team during the 2009 summer camp.

Katy Perry tells UK tabloid The Sun that she would love to have Morrissey perform at her upcoming wedding to Russell Brand. Perry recently met Moz for the first time and the two chatted about her upcoming nuptuals over tea. Sadly, Morrissey, who is an invited guest to their wedding, wasn’t too supportive over the idea of marriage. ”[Morrissey] swooned and sighed, ‘Oh, left hand third finger, don’t do it,’” Perry says. “It was just so eloquent and poetic and like one of his songs.”
Eloquent and poetic as it was, I don’t think they should count on Morrissey as their wedding singer.

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett released a CD a couple of weeks ago with his side project Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants. To celebrate, Chris will be rolling through the Radio 92.3 studios next week to film some acoustic performances for the site. Keep your eyes peeled to this location!

Hulk Hogan confirmed via his publicist that his ex-wife, 50, is set to marry Charlie Hill, and that he wishes the couple well. The en-gagged Hill, at 21, is one year younger than Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, and two years older than son Nick.

From WKYC.com - If you have urgent business at Cleveland City Hall, don’t plan on doing it Monday, August 2. The city will shut down operations Monday. It’s another furlough day for city workers chosen by Mayor Frank Jackson to help balance the city budget. Cleveland’s Water Department and Cleveland Public Power offices will be closed. So will city clinics and recreation centers. Safety forces will maintain normal operations. City Hall and other city buildings will reopen Tuesday, Aug. 3.
